Kameda Stripes are made from sturdy fabric and can be washed with water. However, avoid tumble drying and we recommend natural drying. As indigo dye is used, there is a possibility of color fading. It is advisable to wash it separately.

"I truly want to embrace the things I love." To confront that aspect of myself, I decided to start handling KIMONO, a childhood fascination of mine. Back then, I couldn't even put on a kimono, but by learning how to do so, I came to understand its challenges. I began to overlay my own life experiences, both as a woman and as a mother raising children, wanting to dispel outdated stereotypes. That's when we became a company and launched our original brand, "KIMONOdressjapan." We believe in offering the speciality of kimono in line with modern lifestyles. The creation of the "GLOBAL Haori" is part of this proposition.

The encounter with Kameda Stripes was sparked by my hometown, Niigata, being a treasure trove of kimonos, and I wondered if there were excellent fabrics waiting to be discovered. Concurrently, about two years ago, I started visiting ukiyo-e exhibitions, pondering if I could incorporate Edo culture into clothing. It was during this time that I learned about the revival of an ethical fabric called "Kameda Stripes Edo Stripe." I began contacting the Kameda Textile Industry Cooperative Association directly from last year. Upon seeing the expansive fabric, its high quality was immediately apparent. We started by wanting to express its excellence through pants and thus began the production of the NEXT Daily Pants.

The "GLOBAL Haori" originated from when we first created six silk kimono robes in 2017. This product is an upgraded version of that robe. The original robe was designed for overseas visitors to wear it with a dress-like feel when they visited Japan, and we participated in Hong Kong Fashion Week in 2019 to promote it. Currently, it is sold in kimono stores in Ginza and Roppongi.

This time, we aimed for a more vibrant type of haori. We changed the obi sash to decorative loops and shortened the length to give it a lively image. Additionally, by using cotton, we ensured good breathability and easy machine-washability, making it easy to care for. While thinking of creating a new form, we encountered Kameda Stripes, which led to the production of this piece.
