NIL SANDA jewelry

Born in Shimonoseki City in 1972. She was exposed to violin and other musical instruments from the age of 4, and spent her childhood filled with music. In her youth, she loved illustration, design, and clothing, and decided to become a graphic designer to make the most of her interest in these fields. After moving to Tokyo and working for a publishing company and an advertising agency, he became an independent graphic designer in April 2020. When I design something, I want to make the information neat and tidy, and make it something that can be seen and used by people, so that it will leave a strong impression on their memories. It can be a bad impression, or a creepy, scary, or sad impression, but I would rather impress people in some way than not remain in their memories.

About the product

Sulanga is a ring collection by NIL SANDA, a jewellery brand born in Japan. It is inspired by the ancient winds that blow over the old temples and ruins of Sri Lanka. (Sulanga means "wind" in Sinhalese, one of the official languages of Sri Lanka.)

—Sulanga Story—
"Sulanga" –Listen to the sound of the Sri Lankan wind.
Do you remember the smell of the cool ancient breeze that passes around your body as you walk through the corridors of old temples and ruins?
The morning breeze, just born, gradually takes in the sun's temperature and the greenery smell as it surrounds you. It is like a celebration of your existence as it is.
You are born a jewel. Wear the wind like you wear your clothes, and you will enchant people.

NIL SANDA calls its jewellery "Ambivalence Jewelry," which is designed to look fragile but have a strong attractiveness. The design is intended for all those who have the courage to work and fight for their lives while acknowledging their own weakness, to recognize their "strong and weak" selves, and to wear it as proof that they love themselves more than anyone else. The delicate jewellery, which appears to blend in with the skin, will make you feel happy just by looking at it when you wear it. We hope that those who find this design appealing will wear it as a talisman and feel a sense of contentment in their hearts.

The lineup is as follows
-Blue sapphire: Ceylon blue, a deep reflection of the sea and sky of Sri Lanka.
-Sphene: A young grassy colour that evokes the image of the wind crossing the leaves in an autumnal forest.
-UV Color-changing garnet: a mint green colour reminiscent of a secret spring in the forest that fills with cool spring water. When exposed to blacklight, it changes to a reddish tone.
-Royal blue moonstone, Black diamond: Royal blue moonstone, which evokes the image of a full moon in a clear night sky, and black diamond, which evokes the image of a new moon, invisible but certainly there. The "Berlin Iron"-style black rhodium-plated ring gives an even cooler impression.
-Aquamarine: The image of a view cut out of the surface of a calm lake. By reflecting the colour of water, the source of life, it symbolizes fertility, wealth, vitality, and health.
-Pink tourmaline: The lustre of pink tourmaline is like that of a drop of water spilling from the petals of a flower. It has the power to lead the emotions and spirit toward a positive and brighter direction.

Care Precations
Each natural stone we use has individual differences in colour, size, and inclusions. The expression of each unique stone is also something we cherish. Plated products may peel or discolour after long use. Please note that this may be accelerated by handling and storage conditions.
Many of our products have delicate designs. Both the stones and the base metal may be damaged by constant impact or load, such as stone cracking or deformation. The "Sulanga" series lace arm rings are structurally vulnerable to shocks and tension, so please be very careful not to bump, drop, or snag them.

-Make it a habit to "Wipe after you put it on”.
Jewellery is often worn on bare skin. After use, the surfaces of the jewellery can become contaminated with sweat, sebum, cosmetics, and other substances, which can be surprising.
The easiest way to care for your jewellery in daily life is to make it a habit to wipe it after wearing. To prevent the sparkle from becoming dull, wipe it gently with a soft cloth every day before putting it away in its case.
We recommend using soft cloth for jewellery. Please use a non-abrasive cloth for plated jewellery.
For coloured gems, avoid cleaning with water as much as possible, and wipe them gently with a soft cloth.

“NIL SANDA" means “blue moon” in Sinhalese. The term “blue moon” can also refer to the moon with a bluish tinge, and the second full moon of the month is also called a “blue moon”. On average, a blue moon is rare, occurring only once every two or three years, and can also mean something like "rare" or "good omen" derived from that.

The correlation between the moon and a woman's mental and physical balance is also well known: on new moon days, the senses are more easily sharpened and irritated. In contrast, obstetricians and gynaecologists have a well-known story that the full moon is uplifting and causes pregnant women to give birth more often.

Thus, the relationship between celestial bodies and humans is inseparable. Since ancient times, man has been an animal. Animals were fish. The gravitational pull of the moon causes the ebb and flow of seawater. The gravitational pull of the moon pulls seawater toward the moon. The area where the seawater is drawn in becomes the "high tide" and the area where the seawater is low becomes the “ebb tide”.

We have forgotten that we have lived in the sea since the evolutionary stage when we went up to the ground in search of food from our fish form and began to walk using our feet.

However, as mentioned above, we are reminded of the close connection between the human body and the celestial body at times in our lives, such as childbirth or the death of someone close to us.

In this jewellery brand, we hope to be there for you when you are lost, and to be your guide in everything you do. We have decided to name it "Blue Moon" which will always be there for you. We hope it will be an empowering presence for those who hold it in their hands.

Since these are natural stones, it is possible that we may not have exactly the same or the same quality.
At that time, we will propose a better alternative and offer a ring that you can use for the rest of your life.
