[Monoceros Regulator]
Monoceros, the motif of the watch, is the Greek word for the unicorn. According to the legend, Monoceros, extremely fierce and proud, did not board Noah's Ark, but instead crossed the sea until the day before the end of the Great Flood. It is said that the Monoceros has a side that becomes docile only when held in the bosom of a young girl, and its single horn is said to have the power to detoxify.

Monoceros is a watch with the theme of a one-hand watch from KEYFORD, an original watch brand with its roots in Muramatsu Watch and Clock Manufacturing (established in 1906), which has been in business since the early days of Japanese clocks.
Although the tool for telling time is shifting from watches to cell phones, one-hand watches are still popular among those who know how to spend their leisure time. In today's busy world, we hope that people will enjoy the freedom and elegance of time during their vacation without being trapped by tight time constraints.

The concept is "to provide a smart, sophisticated, and elegant gentleman with a watch he can use on his days off." However, after its release in 2018, we began to receive numerous requests from buyers for a model with an easy-to-use quartz movement and a model that could also be used for work. This required a new design and a new way of thinking that only a Monoceros could achieve.

The movement was selected based on the above sub-concepts. We focused on a design that makes the most of the unicorn hands. We then decided to use a regulator watch.

[Regulator watches]
A regulator watch is a watch in which the hours, minutes, and seconds are independently displayed on the dial. The three hands are placed separately from each other, creating a unique design.
There are a variety of mechanisms in watches, but the regulator is one that is particularly visually appealing and unique. The regulator is a popular choice among those who find ordinary watches boring. Although it is rarely seen because of the small number of models equipped with it, luxury watch companies such as Breguet, Vacheron Constantin, Chronoswiss, Oris, and Hamilton have also adopted the regulator in their mechanical watches. The regulator was designed in the pocket watch era to prevent watchmakers from mistaking hours, minutes, and seconds when adjusting the time.

[Movement]
The unicorn-shaped hand in the center indicates the minutes, the shorthand at 12 o'clock indicates the hours on a 24-hour display, and the smoseco at 6 o'clock indicates the seconds.
The hour and minute hands are separated to maintain the "unicorn hand" which is the greatest feature of the watch. The unicorn hand is shifted from the hour hand to the minute hand to make it a watch that does its job "minute by minute." The quartz movement is easy to use.

[Design with attention to detail]
Hands: The unicorn's horn shows the single hand, with a detailed representation of the unicorn's horn screwed on. The design has a deep sense of taste.

Dial: The pale rose gold-colored, matte dial features square concave indices at the top and bottom of the indexes. The smoseco is circular, with a simple yet dignified design.

Case: The rope-patterned bezel and the mature, sophisticated intermediate colors of champagne and rose-pink gold satisfy the sense of fun and playfulness of adults.

Back: The back is not etched, but rather molded from a coin-relief pattern, giving it a luxurious feel.

Strap: This genuine leather strap is made from oiled leather, which enhances its suppleness and durability. The oil seeps into the leather, giving it a moist and elegant feel with a shiny luster, while also making it softer. The oil also repels water, making it waterproof, and is commonly used in workwear and outdoor activities.
Another characteristic of oil leather is its aging. As it is used, the dye color fades and the tannin component in the leather oxidizes, resulting in beautiful color and texture changes overtime. In order to enjoy these changes, we have made the belt removable with a simple pin. Simply slide the pin to the side to remove it. Please choose from black or brown color. (Belt width: 20mm)

[KEYFORD]
KEYFORD is the original wristwatch brand of Muramatsu Watch and Clock Manufacturing (established in 1906), one of the first Japanese watch manufacturers. Keiichi Muramatsu founded the company.
At that time, when only imported watches were available, there were only four domestic watch manufacturers: Seikosha (now known as Seiko), Shokosha (now Citizen), Toyo Watch (now Orient), and Muramatsu Watch. KEYFORD was one of the brands under Muramatsu Watch.

Since KEYFORD originated not as a company, but as an individual behind-the-scenes manufacturing company, few documents are available today. The brand is not well known to the general public, but Keyford watches made by Keiichi Muramatsu were exported overseas and produced for a short period. As a result, they are called "phantom keyfords" among watch enthusiasts, who consider them rare watches along with Citizen 15-jewel watches.

Now, after more than a hundred years, the KEYFORD domestic wristwatch is returning to life. It is a 24-hour watch with a unicorn, and we have created it for luxurious adult vacations and business.
