Horse meat is low in fat and low in calories indeed. In addition, it is high in protein and rich in minerals such as iron, calcium, and zinc. Since ancient times, it has been eaten as a nutritious tonic.
Most of the horse meat we use at Uma-cha is purchased from Senko Farm in Kumamoto. We have our own farm exclusively for horses and the only horse meat production facility in Japan. The process from livestock to shipment is fast, and hygiene management is thorough.
