About the product

Azuki beans are an ingredient of "Anko," a type of sweet bean paste often used in Japanese wagashi (Japanese confectionery). Did you know that when azuki beans are heated in a microwave oven, the moisture contained in the azuki turns into steam, which can be used as a warmer that warms the body moderately and gradually? Here we introduce an eco-friendly warming item that can be easily and repeatedly used on cold days. It is also recommended for those who have a sore neck or tired eyes due to long hours at the desk and want to warm them up.

[Azuki Heat Pack “Azuki Pillow”]
“Azuki Pillow" is made of azuki beans wrapped in cotton fabric. The inside is made of 100% azuki beans from Hokkaido, which are of edible quality. When heated in a microwave oven, the moisture in the azuki beans turns into steam, which warms your body when held in your hands or touched. The cotton fabric used is called ‘Wa-Sarashi’, which is also used for traditional Japanese towels called ‘Tenugui’. (Please see ‘Product Details’ for usage)

[Scarf and Eye Pillow]
The azuki warmer is placed in a pocket made in the scarf and eye pillow. The scarf is designed with a loop at the end, so once you put it around your neck, you can adjust the size by putting one end through the loop. The size is somewhat snug as it is designed to be used at home, but of course, it can also be used when going out without the azuki warmer! You can use the eye pillow by placing it around your eyes when you sleep or when you take a break from working at your desk. The gradual warmth should feel good. In addition to the eye area, it is also recommended to put it on your ankles at night when it is too cold to sleep.

[Light and Washable Wool]
The fabric used for the scarf and eye pillow is SERENE, an innovative wool blanket that debuted in 2020. This New-Mayer blanket is knitted from pleasant-to-feel merino wool, with a pile length of approximately 20 mm. Merino wool's moisture-regulating and heat-retaining properties keep the azuki warmer's gentle warmth longer than without. Above all, the soft texture of merino wool feels good to the touch, enveloping you in a sense of comfort. The blankets are made at a factory in Izumiotsu, which produces nearly 90% of Japan's domestic blankets. These products are made with the heart of Japanese craftsmanship.

[Toward Sustainability]
Our brand includes full-size blankets. However, in the manufacturing process, there are inevitably some losses such as scraps of material. We developed this product with the desire to make use of such "losses" that had not been used until now. The factory also utilises the extra lanes that are left over during off-seasons to ensure a production system that operates without overwork or waste.

We would be happy if you could take it as one of the options to stay comfortable while switching from chemical fibres to natural materials, and thinking about the environment in the future.

-Warm it in a microwave oven at 500W for 30 to 40 seconds.
-Put it in the pocket of a scarf or eye pillow and place it over the eyes, shoulders, neck, ankles, or anywhere else you want to keep warm.
-The warming time is about 10 to 20 minutes.
-Do not use it continuously. Please leave at least 4 hours between uses.
-The product can be used up to 100 times because it uses the moisture in the azuki bean body. The duration is about 3 months. The date and time of the beginning of use can be written on the body of the pillow.

Care Precations
-The manufacturing process of New-Mayer blankets leaves fine fluff on the product, which may adhere to dark-coloured clothes in the beginning. Please use commercially available adhesive tape or dust remover.
-The fluff may fall out during use and washing, but this does not affect the functionality of the product.

[Precautions for use of Azuki-beans warmer]
-Do not use it continuously. Please leave at least 4 hours between each use.
-The body of the Azuki Pillow is not washable.
-Please store it in a well-ventilated place.
-Do not use if you have skin problems or fever.
-Do not heat the product for longer than the specified time.
-When the warming time becomes shorter, it is time to replace the product.
-In the unlikely event that the product has been heated for an extended period of time, please allow it to cool before placing it in the case.

We, PANDA KIKAKU, are a design firm focusing on interior goods design. 2018 saw the launch of our interior brand, LOOM & SPOOL, which aims to be loved for a long time for its quality and design. We plan to fit high-quality Izumiotsu blankets into modern lifestyles and create products that will be used for a long time.

In addition, the "USE UNUSED" brand was launched as a sub-brand of the “LOOM & SPOOL” brand. The brand is based on the unique perspective and methods of LOOM&SPOOL, which digs up "idle materials" lying dormant in factories and warehouses that, for various reasons, have lost their chance to be processed into products. This product, too, utilises material loss from the blanket manufacturing process. The materials that could not fit into the shape of a blanket but have no quality problems are utilised and reborn in a new form.

We are developing our brand with sustainability in mind, not only by using natural materials, but also by eliminating waste and unreasonableness in the manufacturing process. We hope that everyone will experience the comfort of natural wool and azuki beans.

The schedule shown in this document is only as of the release of the project. Due to the nature of support purchases, there is a possibility of delivery delays.
As a general rule, support purchase cannot be cancelled due to delivery delays. However, if the return delivery is delayed for more than 5 months from the scheduled delivery month, we will cancel the purchase only if you wish.

Please read the instructions carefully and use the Azuki Pillow in the correct manner.

Due to the manufacturing process of New Mayer blankets, some fine fluff may remain in the product, and at first the fine fluff may stick to dark colored clothes. Please use commercially available adhesive tape such as Korokoro.

The fluff may fall out during use and washing, but this does not affect the functionality of the product.

Please note that delivery may be delayed due to unavoidable factors such as bad weather, natural disasters, and traffic restrictions. Please understand this in advance.
