About the product

Since the pandemic, working from home has probably become more common. With more time spent at home, more people may be wearing slippers for longer periods of time. Bare feet are good, but we would like to introduce you to quality slippers as one of our interior design items that can protect your feet from the roughness and coldness of wooden flooring, create hospitality, “OMOTENASHI”, from the entrance, and enrich your mind a little. This is a sustainable product that utilises materials that have been lying dormant in factories.

[Use according to the season and your mood]
We have prepared two types: a front-open and a babouche type. The front-open type is recommended when it is hot and humid. The shape is breathable, so it is comfortable to wear barefoot. The babouche type covers the instep and is suitable for year-round use. It is also recommended when you feel cold in the air conditioner. Although the style is intended to be worn by stepping on the heel, it can also be worn in the form of room shoes by raising the heel fabric. They both have the same taste, so you can keep your interior consistent!

[Sturdiness x soft feel fabric]
In order to create a sturdy yet soft texture, a special treatment is applied by a Japanese manufacturer. The materials are jute and cotton. Jute has long been used for carpets and bags for coffee beans and grains because of its strong fibres and its ability to retain heat thanks to its fluffiness. Because it is so strong, it can be washed at home. On the other hand, it is not only durable, but also has a vintage look and feel that makes it fit in as part of your interior design. The natural vintage look was achieved by washing the fibres with a special enzyme mixture during the fibre processing steps. The result is a durable yet very soft feel.

[Made by a Japanese slipper manufacturer]
The slippers are made by Sato Chemical, a manufacturer specialising in slipper production. This factory is where technology such as cutting-edge cutting machines and handwork using traditional moulds coexist. In fact, it takes a fine knack to achieve the subtle three-dimensionality of the slippers. The seam allowance is approximately 3~4 mm, so pre-treatment is also important to prevent fraying even when full weight is applied. The manufacturing process is also very ingenious to ensure that the heel has just the slightest bit of height, for example, to ensure that the product will be well-loved.

[Toward sustainability]
To begin with, jute has properties suitable for environmental conservation, such as "fast growth with vigorous photosynthesis" and "no harmful substances are emitted when it is incinerated. Not only that, but this fabric was originally developed by a fabric manufacturer, but due to a combination of various factors, it did not make it to the market, so to speak, and was a "stray" fabric. These slippers are the result of making use of it.

We are committed to design, quality, and sustainability. We hope you will use our slippers for a long time.

We, PANDA KIKAKU, are a design firm focusing on interior goods design. 2018 saw the launch of our interior brand, LOOM & SPOOL, which aims to be loved for a long time for its quality and design. We plan to fit high-quality Izumiotsu blankets into modern lifestyles and create products that will be used for a long time.

In addition, the "USE UNUSED" brand was launched as a sub-brand of the “LOOM & SPOOL” brand. The brand is based on the unique perspective and methods of LOOM&SPOOL, which digs up "idle materials" lying dormant in factories and warehouses that, for various reasons, have lost their chance to be processed into products. This product also utilises materials that were lying dormant in the factory. We are taking advantage of materials that happen to have no quality problems because we just couldn't find a use for them, and giving them a new form.

We would like to continue to think of thoughtful projects that will make everyone's life a little better. We would be honoured if there are people overseas who would agree with our ideas and take our products.

Product images are for illustrative purposes only. Colors may vary depending on your monitor or smartphone.
The detailed specifications of the design may change from those shown in the images due to the progress of the project.
The schedule described in the text is only the schedule at the time of the project release. Due to the nature of support purchases, there is a possibility of delivery delays.
In principle, we will not be able to cancel your purchase in the event of delivery delays, but we will cancel your purchase if you wish to do so within 6 months of the scheduled delivery month.
Please note that there is a possibility of delivery delays due to unavoidable factors such as bad weather, disasters, and traffic restrictions. Please understand this in advance.
We are challenging to combine new fabrics while slightly changing and diverting the standard shape. If you change this part a little more like this, it would be better! We would be very happy to hear your comments and opinions about our products.

I think I'll have fun with the front opening and Baboosh, depending on the season. It's also nice to use idle materials! And above all, the color is good and the material with a sense of calmness seems to be very comfortable! We are looking forward to your delivery! !
