We have created a sauna gown with a Japanese taste using fabrics from the world-renowned Japanese towel produced in Imabari, Japan. We have focused on a design that can be used both in outdoor saunas and in everyday life.This product is made of towel fabric, which is from Imabari, that has been sheared. The shearing process gives it a smooth feel with fine tips of fur and a superb velvety touch. The reverse side is made of regular towel fabric, so the high absorbency of towels is fully utilized, making it perfect for after a sauna or shower.
Because we, KIMONOdressjapan, are the producer of this product, we have also focused on a Japanese-inspired design. Unlike bathrobes, gowns, and ponchos common in Scandinavia, this creation is inspired by Japanese Samue and Jimbei. The waist is not fastened with a belt, but with buttons on the inside. In addition, the length of the garment is made to reach about the hip and is separate from the knee-length pants, making it easy to sit or stand up. We have also focused on using colors that fit in with both daily life and the outdoors.
The matching sauna hat uses fabric with Washi (Japanese paper) yarn as the lining material. Washi has properties such as water absorption, quick-drying, antibacterial, and deodorant, and by knitting it alternately with FTY (Filament Twisted Yarn), known as an elastic knit yarn, we pursue both a comfortable feel and stretchability at the same time.
