About the Product
When people think of clogs, they generally think of double-toothed clog, but they don’t wear it in their everyday life because of its uncomfortable image. To solve such problems, we developed a "Men's Geta" that can be worn comfortably. The "Men's Geta" has the same shape as zori (Japanese sandals), allowing for comfort and design that match their daily outfit.
The traditional curves achieved through Japanese craftsmanship conform to the shape of the sole. There is no left and right to "Men's Geta," because maetsubo is attached to the center of the geta. People have habits in the way they wear geta. However, by wearing the clogs with the left and right sides switched every day, the soles will wear down evenly without one side wearing down, thereby extending the life of the clog. The appropriate size of the "Men's Geta" is when, the toes and heel stick out. This is because in ancient times it has been considered "iki" (stylish) to wear geta in this style.
The "Men's Geta" is made of paulownia wood, which is extremely lightweight and soft. The surface of each geta is carefully hand-finished by craftsmen to bring out the grain of the wood and create a very beautiful, glossy finish. Same technique is also used to finish the surface of "koto", a traditional Japanese musical instrument.
Care
Remove the dirt with a soft brush, then wipe it with a soft cloth with lukewarm water so as not to damage the fabric. Some fabrics may bleed dye, so please try it on an inconspicuous spot.
If the wood is chipped, it may be possible to repair it by gluing the pieces together. If the hanao is damaged, it can be replaced. Contact us before the wood is shaved off to replace the rubber sole. If the hanao is damaged, it can be replaced. Please contact us if you wish to do so. When wet, please dry it well in a shady, well-ventilated place. Do not dry in direct sunlight. Sudden temperature changes may cause the wood to crack or warp.

We, Watomi Co., Ltd, is a Ehime-based company that crafts traditional Japanese products. We value Japanese traditions. We crafted "Men's Geta" with our traditional craftsmanship so that people can casually enjoy Japanese traditions in their daily life.
"Men's Geta" are manufactured at Nagahama Mokki Factory, a long-established wooden clog manufacturer established 72 years ago in Ozu City. It is made by traditional Ehime artisans who hold excellent woodworking skills.
In addition to paulownia wood, we are making a great effort to make effective use of sustainable wood such as thinned hinoki and sugi (Japanese cedar) from Shikoku to contribute to SDGs.
