Currently, the average age of Japanese traditional craftsmen is rising , and I feel that my age is the last . It is not good that such wonderful crafts disappear, and I want to preserve Japanese culture for posterity. What is Nishijin-ori?
About 550 years ago, the Onin War broke out in Nishijin-ori. It was divided into the East Army and the West Army and fought for 11 years. Due to this war, textile craftsmen evacuated to Sakai and Yamaguchi. Located in the northwestern part of modern Kyoto city in the area of the headquarters of the war-torn western army, centering on Kamigyo Ward and Kita Ward, approximately Marutamachi Dori in the south, Kamigamo in the north, Karasuma Dori in the east, and Nishioji Dori in the west. I returned to the surrounding area and woven the fabric vigorously. The name Nishijin means the west position .
In the 5th year of the Meiji Era, three international students from Nishijin were dispatched to Europe, and modern textile technology such as jacquard was introduced to enable mass production of high-grade textiles.
The most distinctive feature of Nishijin- ori is that it is a " yarn-dyed pattern woven fabric" that is dyed in the state of yarn and weaves a pattern using the yarn . Multicolored threads are machined and a complex " division of labor " must be carried out in multiple stages in order to produce a beautiful woven fabric .

Currently, we are sincerely working on the project so that we can realize the design and specifications with our factories and partners. However, there is a possibility that some designs and specifications may change during the production process. We are currently adjusting the schedule based on the number assuming that the project will be successful, but if there is an application for support purchase that exceeds expectations, we will deliver it due to circumstances in the production process or unavoidable circumstances due to delivery work. Please note that it may be delayed. The schedule described in the text is the schedule at the time of project release. Due to the nature of support purchases, there is a risk of delivery delays. As a general rule, support purchases cannot be canceled due to delivery delays, but if it exceeds 6 months from the scheduled return delivery month, only those who wish to do so will be cancelled. Since there are many handmade products, the quantity is based on the period. So this time, we will support it with a sewing machine only for Makuake.
