atelier-nami is a jewelry brand that focuses on 18-karat gold materials and natural diamonds.
We have been developing a project at Makuake since 2021.

This project introduces rare Akoya pearl twin pearl earrings and jewelry using baroque pearls. Unisex pearl jewelery has also been attracting attention since last year.

This time, atelier-nami introduces pearl jewelry.

Why did you pick up Pearl?
There is a reason for that.

In Okachimachi, Tokyo, which can be said to be the center of Japanese jewelry, something is happening right now. What wholesalers are saying these days,

"There are no more products to wholesale!"

Natural stones called colored stones such as diamonds, rubies and sapphires, and Japanese pearls are all running out of stock.

Among them, Japanese pearls are deeply popular mainly in Asia, and high quality pearls are traded at high prices.

And one more

"The crisis of pearl farming in Japan" is often reported in newspapers.
From around 2019 to 2021, the pearl-producing cultivated Akoya pearl oysters will die for some reason.

Due to these factors, the number of Japanese pearls produced and distributed has decreased, and I wanted to inform you of this situation, so I took up pearls.

By the way, baroque pearls are the most talked about pearls these days.

The charm of baroque pearls is their unique shape.

It was born by chance in nature, and it is a big attraction that there is no two shapes in the world.

Also, compared to the round round pearls, it doesn't look too far away, and it goes
well with casual styles, making it easy to use.

We started with the desire to deliver pearls with natural beauty that do not have the same shape as one, and to make a project that can contribute to the Japanese pearl industry as much as possible.

■ Miraculous twin pearls made by Akoya pearl oysters

When pearl oysters are cultivated with pearl oysters, they often contain two nuclei that form the nacre, but in rare cases the two nuclei may stick together when forming the nacre. This is a twin pearl.

It is not a pearl made by sticking two round pearls together, but a pearl that can be naturally produced during aquaculture, so it is born in a very lovely appearance.

Since they are originally cultivated at intervals of nuclei, there are almost no small twin pearls with a diameter of 4 mm or less.

This time, I collected the mini twin pearls that I made by chance. In addition, we have carefully selected only the slightly larger twin pearls with a diameter of 6 mm that have good shine.

■ For baroque pearls with a small "territory" peculiar to pearls

The round pearls of Akoya pearl oysters are said to have good shine. To put it simply, pearls are brilliant, but in the case of pearls, the brilliance is a rainbow color, so I think that it is often called including such a way of shining. When it comes to small baroque pearls, the nacre is thin, which affects this pearl, but since the nacre is of good quality in the first place, it is better than pearls other than Akoya pearls.

The same applies to freshwater baroque pearls other than Akoya pearls this time , and among them, we carefully selected the ones with many rainbow colors .

Most of the freshwater pearls are produced overseas, but recently, many very beautiful freshwater pearls have been seen.

Large baroque pearls are mostly from overseas, but pearls with good shine are very popular.

Keshipearl is a nuclear-free pearl that happens to be found in pearl oysters .
We will also introduce this Keshipearl this time.

Keshipearl is characterized by its small size due to its formation process. It has a very beautiful edge and has an outstanding presence. There is only a small amount, but I tried to make this a ring.

This time, I arranged the large baroque pearl into a unisex necklace.

The combination of a chain made of silver (SV925) and baroque pearls can be used casually, so it is very useful to have one.

The point is that the chain part can be used as an adjuster as it is , and it is easy to use it like a choker, wear it on your chest for a long time, and arrange it.

■ I chose one by one by looking at it

All the pearls used this time are first manually sorted one by one , and only the ones with good shine are used.

However, because it is a pearl produced by nature, some pearls have dimples and small holes even if they are good.

However, if you have one pearl in each world, you will be attached to it and will cherish it.

We will continue to make better products so that you can use them for a long time, so please look forward to it.

■ All made in Japan, carefully handmade to the final process

All return products will be manufactured in Japan.

There are also Akoya pearls, South Sea pearls and freshwater pearls handled by wholesalers, but atelier-nami carefully handcrafts all of them one by one.

The process until it becomes a product is as follows.

1. 1. Pearl sorting: Remove any scratches or bad pearls from the wholesaler before purchasing. Visually check all the grains one by one.

2. 2. Pearl inspection: The purchased pearls are visually checked again and inspected by color and size.

3. 3. Parts processing: We adjust the chain length, cast (cast) and polish piercing posts and rings.

4. Product finish: Ren's necklace is made by threading threads one by one to make knots. All connections with metal parts are done carefully by hand.

5. Final inspection: The product finished up to the final process is inspected and finished for scratches at the end.

6. We will put the products in a case, pack them one by one, and ship them.

Akoya pearls "Twin pearls" are all finished in 18K gold as earrings.

Since it is a precious twin pearl, the material of the post is 18K gold so that you can use it for a long time. There are two types: twin Akoya pearls and smaller and cute mini twin Akoya pearls .

In addition , in the case of 18-karat gold pierced earrings, while many products are made only of silicon, we use high-class catches equipped with K18 metal fittings .

Large baroque pearl necklace (SV925)

The color of large freshwater baroque pearls is white and gives off a rainbow-colored play color. We purchase and use only SS class (highest grade) pearls among pearl wholesalers. (The image chain is L size)

Since it can be made naturally, there are variations in size, but the size and shape are roughly like this. Pearl size: width approx. 24 ± 4 mm, length approx. 17 ± 5 mm, thickness approx. 15 ± 2 mm.

The length of the silver chain is about 53 cm, and the width of the pearl is about 1 cm. (The image chain is L size)

You can select the size of the chain part of the chain. The size of one ring is as follows.
L size: 8mm, M size: 5.5mm

About half of the chain can be used as an adjuster, so you can freely adjust the length to suit your fashion.
